07/19/08 The Acura Sports Car Challenge is underway here at Mid-Ohio. During a routine pitstop the De Ferran Motorsports Acura driven by Simon Pagenaud pulled away before the fuel man had removed the nozzle. A major fire erupted and refueler Keith Jones from Indiana was pulled down into the fire. Despite being fully clothed in fire protection clothing, Jones was burned fairly badly, but it is not life threatening. He was talking to the medics and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. With 30 minutes to go Lucas Luhr in the Audi leads Emmanuelle Pirro in the sister Audi. Luhr is pulling away to a comfortable lead and appears to have everything in hand.
