A1GP Cars continue build process

Anticipation is building ahead of the 2008/09 A1GP World Cup of Motorsport season, with some teams now nearing completion of the construction of their A1GP Powered by Ferrari cars.

These pictures, exclusive to A1GP.com, show A1 Teams Indonesia, Australia, Malaysia and New Zealand among others, building and preparing their cars for the new season, which begins next month.

The original test car has clocked up nearly a season’s worth of mileage during the off-season, with the second test car due to join it in a three-day test at Silverstone next week.

A1GP is not only preparing the cars but also the A1 Teams for the new season. Next week training seminars will be held at the series Silverstone base with mechanics and engineers from every team being given training in all aspects of the car; including the gearbox, electronics, data logging and parts maintenance, all of which have specific technical knowledge requirements.

The cars will take to the track for the first time in official testing in Donington on September 9 -11, before leaving for Mugello for two days of further official testing. This precedes the opening round of the season at the Italian circuit on September 21.
