Nevada motocross rider dies following crash

UPDATE Blunt force trauma to the head caused the death of a 21-year-old motocross rider who crashed at Stafford Motor Speedway, the Connecticut medical examiner's office said Wednesday. Anthony Hart of Henderson, Nev., lost control of his motorcycle and hit an outer track barricade at Stafford Motor Speedway on Saturday. He died later that day. An autopsy was performed this week.

08/11/08 A Nevada motocross rider died following a crash Saturday at Stafford Motor Speedway.

The officials said 21-year-old Anthony Hart of Henderson, Nev., died after crashing during a practice session for the Doug Henry New England Grand Prix.

Hart was the brother of motocross star Carey Hart, Grammy-winning pop star Pink's former husband.

The event was sanctioned by the American Motorcyclist Association, part of the AMA XTRM Supermoto Championship series. AMA officials weren't immediately available for comment. Sportsline.com
