Free gas for NASCAR fans

Homestead-Miami Speedway officials announced that they would award $20 Sunoco gas cards to out-of-market fans who buy tickets to the Sprint Cup and Nationwide series races at the track in November.

Fans traveling 100 miles or more to the season-ending races who buy either two grandstand tickets to the Sprint Cup race on Nov. 16 or two two-day tickets for both the Cup and Nationwide races will receive the gas cards.

Also, the track announced that fans can reserve RV parking spots, eliminating the need to arrive days in advance.

“All of us have been affected by the increased fuel costs," Homestead Miami President Curtis Gray said in a news release. “So we went to work exploring initiatives we can offer here at the speedway to alleviate the strain of this current economic climate. And there’s no better place to start than with the loyal fans who travel extended distances to be a part of NASCAR’s Ford Championship Weekend."
