Bubba knocks out singer at MIS concert

UPDATE Country music performer Pat Green was beaned by a full can of beer at Michigan International Speedway over the weekend, but he remained conscious, his publicist said Wednesday. While a state trooper told the Citizen Patriot Green was knocked out when a fan tossed a beer on stage, Heather Bohn said her client withstood the beer bomb and walked off the stage.

"It is not fun to be hit with a full can of beer, and it is not something we want to happen again," she said in a phone conversation from Nashville.

Green performed Saturday night after the CarFax 250 race and was near the end of his set when he asked: "Anyone got a beer?"

A fan accidentally struck Green between the eyes. Bohn said Green did not require stitches, but the concert ended immediately. MLive.com

08/19/08 A performer at a free concert Saturday night at Michigan International Speedway shouted, "Anyone got a beer?"

NASCAR 'Bubbas' then pelted the stage with full beer cans, one, and then another, then another, striking country singer Pat Green between the eyes. The impact knocked him out cold, ending the concert late in his 75-minute set, a Michigan State Police trooper said.

"As I understand it he asked for a beer, someone threw one and he caught it," track spokeswoman Sammie Lukaskiewicz said. "Someone then threw another beer, and it hit him."

Medical personnel treated Green at the track.
