Bridgestone introduces Magic Rings in IndyCar
The 4 drivers still in championship contention will use the white sidewall Magic Ring tires this weekend. |
To bring that spirit to the track, and to help spectators identify the drivers still in contention for the IndyCar Series championship as the clock winds down on the 2008 race calendar, Firestone Racing has created special "Magic Ring" Firestone Firehawk racing slicks. These tires will be supplied to each driver still eligible to win the championship through the last three points-paying races, beginning this weekend at the Peak Antifreeze & Motor Oil Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma County at Infineon Raceway.
While identical in compound and construction to the Firestone Firehawk racing slicks that all other IndyCar Series competitors will use, the "Magic Rings" will feature a white sidewall with black lettering to make Scott Dixon, Helio Castroneves, Dan Wheldon and Tony Kanaan stand out in the crowd as the cars take to the track.

"Magic Rings" captures the essence of IndyCar Series racing and its passionate fans while following Firestone brand tires as they progress from the earliest days of the sport to the present-day realities of high technology and mind-boggling speed. The commercial was created by The Richards Group and has been well-received by the IndyCar Series community and its fans.
Now, as the countdown to the 2008 IndyCar Series championship begins in earnest, each of the final four contenders can ask himself, "Where will the Magic Rings take ME?" And IndyCar Series fans around the world will watch eagerly as the answer unfolds during the final events.
