Massa ‘destroyed’ rivals in quail – Hamilton

(GMM) Championship leader Lewis Hamilton on Saturday admitted Felipe Massa may be set to break McLaren's winning streak on the streets of Valencia.

Massa's pole raced to pole position at the new Spanish venue, and fellow front-row sitter Hamilton conceded that the Brazilian's Ferrari "destroyed" the competition especially in the first sector of the city layout.

"He's going to be hard to beat tomorrow," the Briton, two tenths behind Massa but ahead of BMW-Sauber's Robert Kubica on the grid, said.

"I think I was already down a tenth or two tenths after the first corner. Turns four and five did not seem as strong as I'd like," Hamilton added.

Massa, whose victory in Hungary three weeks ago was robbed by an engine failure three laps from the end, confirmed that his first sector performance in Q3 was "fantastic" at Valencia.
