ALMS most popular driver voting open

Voting for the annual American Le Mans Series Most Popular Driver award is under way once again. As in years past, the Series will conduct a six-week voting campaign and let its fans determine who wins this year's award. Corvette Racing's Ron Fellows has won the contest for four years running. Who do fans want to follow in his footsteps? They can choose by picking their favorite driver today.

Voting will run through midnight on Sunday, October 5 – the same weekend as Petit Le Mans powered by the Totally New Mazda6.

The Series also is accepting nominations for the From the Fans award. This honor goes to the person or group who made the biggest impact in the American Le Mans Series and sports car racing over the past year in the eyes of fans. Past winners include Series founder Dr. Don Panoz, team owners Rob Dyson, Dave Maraj and Duncan Dayton, GM's Gary Pratt and Doug Fehan, Audi's Dr. Wolfgang Ullrich and American Le Mans Radio host John Hindhaugh.

Fans may send nominations to rsmith@americanlemans.com by September 14. The field will be narrowed down to the top-five nominees starting the next day with polling to determine this year's deserving winner.
