Aflac takes bigger role in No. 99

Roush Fenway Racing announced today that as part of Aflac’s designation as “Official Supplemental Insurance Company of Roush Fenway Racing", they will be carried as the primary sponsor on the No. 99 Ford in the ARCA RE/MAX Series for the remainder of the 2008 season. With six races to go, driver Ricky Stenhouse Jr. sits second in the overall point standings and is closing the gap on point’s leader Scott Speed. The Olive Branch, Miss.-native is proud to represent Aflac and is looking to give them a win and a championship before the year is out. Aflac will be running a new paint scheme showcasing its life insurance offering on the No. 99.

“It’s great to have Aflac on the No. 99 Ford for the rest of this year," said Stenhouse. “They’ve been a great sponsor for Carl (Edwards) and the entire Roush Fenway Racing organization so I’m proud to have them as part of our ARCA team. The Aflac Duck looks awesome on the No. 99 Aflac Ford, hopefully we can take him to victory lane soon."

Stenhouse is having a break-out year with two wins (first Kentucky and first Pocono), seven top-five and 11 top-10 finishes in 15 starts. He led the points from May through July before Speed took over. However, with a second place finish at Springfield and another dirt track on the horizon, Stenhouse has gained ground and is looking to gain more.

The No. 99 Aflac Ford will make its debut on the one-mile clay dirt track of DuQuoin Monday, Sept. 1 when the ARCA RE/MAX Series returns to action. Stenhouse will also race Carl Edwards’ No. 199 RE Technologies USAC Silver Crown car on Sunday, Aug. 31 as a precursor to the ARCA race.
