Rain washes out Nationwide Qualifying, Cup probably too
Rain wiped out qualifying for Friday night's NASCAR Nationwide Series Emerson Radio 250 at Richmond International Raceway and the field will be set by owner points.
Joey Logano will lead the field to the green flag when the race does take place based on the No. 20 Joe Gibbs racing Toyota leading the owner point standings.
The forecast for the remainder of Friday is not promising however as rains and wind from Hurricane Hannah are expected to engulf the Richmond area for potentially the next 24-36 hours.
Friday night's Nationwide Series race is still planned for a 7 p.m. start. The race to make the Chase has begun in Richmond, but rain may set the lineup by owner's points. Cup qualifying is scheduled to start at 6:05 PM. Don't hold your breath.
