Hamilton Truck team joining Toyota ranks

Bobby Hamilton Racing-Virginia, which has run Dodges in the Truck Series since the organization’s inception in 1997, is expected to move to the Toyota camp next season, The Charlotte Observer and ThatsRacin.com have learned.

The team recently announced that Dodge, which provides manufacturer support to BHR and sponsors its No. 18 Dodge this season with driver Dennis Setzer, would not return to either role next season.

A formal announcement is expected in the new few weeks. A BHR spokesperson on Friday said no deals have been finalized.

Earlier this month, BHR shut down its No. 4 team, which was driven by Stacy Compton. Compton, Clay Campbell, Joey Arrington, Mac Bailey and Mark Melling jointly own the organization with former team owner Bobby Hamilton's widow, Lori, serving as chief operating officer.

In another move, Arrington's company, Arrington Engines, will begin producing Toyota engines next season, sources said. The company currently produces hemispherical combustion chamber engines (HEMIs).
