Craig Gore hit by brazen burglars
Mr. Gore, his family and a business colleague were all asleep in the house at the time of the robbery, which happened about 4am.
Mr. Gore said his business colleague woke to find the man in his room.
"I had a business colleague up from Sydney and after they got into my room and cleaned that out they obviously saw him there and were going in to take his watch and wallet,'' said Mr. Gore.
"I was fast asleep and had a guest from Sydney staying in one of the spare rooms and I heard him yelling and people making a lot of noise running down the stairs and I got up and he was chasing the assailants out of the house.
"I was a bit shocked and then went downstairs and that's when we noticed that things had been taken.''
Mr. Gore said the thieves got away with a watch collection, cash, jeweler, a laptop computer, mobile phones and a Blackberry.
He said it appeared they had jumped the rendered wall surrounding his home and forced their entry through a side door.
Mr. Gore said after he was woken up he went to check on his children who were sleeping together in a room and found that the thief had entered their room and stolen a laptop.
He said it was `disgusting' to think the man had crept around in the room where his 5-year-old son Flynn and seven-year-old daughter Piper lay asleep.
"I'm glad they didn't wake up at the time," he said.
"If they woke up when it happened I'm sure it would have been a lot more scary for them."
He said they seemed to know what they wanted and they left other more valuable items behind.
"There are a couple of paintings in excess of $1 million and they didn’t touch them," he said. Goldcoast.com
