More to come from Heikki – Whitmarsh

(GMM) There is more to come from Lewis Hamilton's McLaren teammate Heikki Kovalainen, team chief executive Martin Whitmarsh thinks.

"Heikki is fearsomely quick but is still very much developing his approach," he said after last weekend's Italian grand prix.

"We have a clearly defined program for him in the weeks and months ahead and feel certain that he will only grow stronger."

The Finn was visibly dejected on the Monza podium last Sunday. "I should have won," he said after finishing second to Sebastian Vettel.

After qualifying second behind the Toro Rosso, many expected the 26-year-old to take victory.

But Whitmarsh insists: "Heikki has no reason to feel disappointed. He didn't put a foot wrong all weekend and looked blindingly fast in dry, damp and full-wet conditions."
