NJMP Hosts NASCAR¹s Next Stars at Loud Energy Drink 150
Unquestionably, the highest profile driver competing at NJMP during the ARCA weekend will be American Scott Speed, the former Formula One driver, Red Bull star and ARCA RE/MAX points leader. Speed, whose long-time backing from Red Bull earned him two seasons in Formula One, will make his NASCAR Sprint Cup debut later in 2008. He has claimed four victories to date in the ARCA Series in 2008, as well as one in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.
The SPEED World Challenge GT Series is home to many manufacturers’ racing programs, including perennial adversaries Cadillac, Porsche, Ford and Dodge. Points leader Randy Pobst will look to close in on a third World Challenge GT Championship. Pobst, who drives a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup for K-PAX Racing, holds a slim lead over GM Factory Driver Andy Pilgrim and his Cadillac CTS-V with two races left to go in the season.
