Yamamoto confirmed at ART for GP2 Asia
The Japanese racer joined the French based squad earlier this year when he joined Romain Grosjean late in the season to contest ART Grand Prix’s GP2 European Series challenge. After impressing team bosses, Sakon will therefore continue his partnership with the team for the 12 Asian events.
“Sakon demonstrated that he was a fast driver in each of the categories he contested. His last results did not give grace to his talent, his determination and professionalism, but ART Grand Prix is convinced he will be able to aim higher with them," said Frédéric Vasseur.
“Sakon is a driver with a big technical background and he is without a doubt one of the very best Asian drivers at the moment. He was missing the right tools to do great things in the past, but we will do everything in our power to make of ART Grand Prix a springboard for his success," added Nicolas Todt.
