Tickets on sale for ’09 Long Beach GP
The 2009 Grand Prix features the Long Beach debut of the IndyCar Series, with such stars as Danica Patrick, Scott Dixon, Marco Andretti and Graham Rahal battling wheel-to-wheel on the historic 1.97-mile, 11-turn seaside street circuit.
The weekend will again roar to the continuous action of six racing series, including the popular Team Drift Challenge and Firestone Indy Lights. Highlights on Sat., April 18 will include the fan-favorite American Le Mans Series and the 33rd Annual Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race.
One additional racing series will be announced shortly.
"We're proud to welcome the IndyCar Series to the streets of Long Beach," said Jim Michaelian, President and CEO of the Grand Prix Association of Long Beach (GPALB). "It continues our long tradition of bringing the finest in racing – and much more – to our fans.
"Were again staging a four-day entertainment festival that will include two terrific, free Tecate Light concerts, the Lifestyle Expo, Green Power Prix-View, go-kart competitions and extreme sports demonstrations.
"And, we're doing it with NO increase in ticket prices."
The Lifestyle Expo in the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center will showcase displays of cutting-edge products and services in automotive, home, travel and personal fitness, as well as water and energy conservation and healthy lifestyles. The Expo will also feature a Kid's Zone, computer games and action sports.
Ticket prices for the three-day event range from $25 for a Friday General Admission ticket to $125 for a three-day ticket that includes Sat./Sun. reserved seating in grandstand upper levels. Pre-paid parking packages are also available.
Credit card orders for the 2009 event weekend are now being accepted at the toll-free ticket hotline — (888) 82-SPEED – or on-line by visiting www.gplb.com. Handicapped seating, IndyCar Paddock passes, Super Photo tickets and a wide variety of Hospitality Club packages are also available.
The Web site also includes continuous updates on 2009 Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach tickets, news and ongoing announcements of special race week activities.
