Kevin Harvick, Carl Edwards won’t be penalized

NASCAR Nationwide Series Director Joe Balash said there will be no penalties stemming from a reported shoving incident involving Carl Edwards and Kevin Harvick in the Nationwide garage area during a break in practice Thursday at Lowe’s Motor Speedway.

“It’s done," Balash said. “From everything that we can tell there was just some heated conversation."

At one point, Edwards was put in a headlock by a friend of Harvick’s in order to try to break up the argument, according to several sources in the garage area.

Neither driver was willing to discuss the issue. Harvick said, “Ask him" when asked about the incident. Edwards said he did not wish to discuss the altercation in public but acknowledged he was unhappy with certain comments after the Talladega race last Sunday.

Harvick called Edwards a “pansy" after Edwards triggered a multicar accident at Talladega.
"We took care of that privately, I think that's the right way to do that," Edwards said. "Man-to-man, talk about stuff, make sure you understand how everybody feels." Scenedaily.com
