Stewart’s Midget goes for a swim
From the too funny department, Tony Stewart's USAC Midget guys recently finished putting together a brand new midget for Levi Jones to drive. We’ve been told it had the first of a new Chevy engine configuration that was supplied by GM.
As most of you know, midgets do not have starters on them so they must be push started. They pushed her out to the parking lot behind the shop, one of the mechanics strapped in and another one got the push truck.
Off they went across the parking lot. Unfortunately, as the new engine sputtered to life for the first time, the throttle stuck wide open and off she went! Across the lot, jumping the curb and taking a swan dive into a retention pond!
Somebody said he was giving the car a "Water Tunnel Test" instead of a Wind Tunnel Test.
