Coulthard confirmed as Britain’s third driver
David Coulthard has become the third British driver to be confirmed for this year’s Race of Champions, which takes place at Wembley Stadium on Sunday 14 December. The Scot, who retires from F1 competition at the end of the weekend’s Brazilian Grand Prix, will join fellow F1 star Jenson Button and triple World Touring Car Champion Andy Priaulx as the best drivers in the world compete for the title of “Champion of Champions." In The Race of Champions the competitors – who include seven-times F1 World Champion Michael Schumacher and four-times World Rally Champion Sébastien Loeb – race head-to-head in identical cars for both individual glory and for the pride of their country, on a specially-built tarmac course constructed within Wembley Stadium. Coulthard, who has taken part in The Race of Champions for the past four years, is the first of two drivers to be confirmed as racing for Team F1 Racing Great Britain in The ROC Nations Cup. Button and Priaulx will race for Team Autosport Great Britain in the event, while Coulthard’s teammate will be announced at a later date.
