Former MotoGP world champion Casey Stoner has undergone a successful operation to his left wrist, according to a statement from the Australian's team Ducati.
Stoner, who came runner-up to Italian Valentino Rossi on this year's MotoGP championship, had surgery in a hospital in Modena, Italy.
The Australian, who won the season-ending Valencia GP last weekend, was discharged Friday, whereby he returned to his home in Switzerland to recover.
