Smallest NASCAR crowd in TMS history

The attendance at Sunday's Dickies 500 was estimated at 171,000, the fewest number of fans for a Sprint Cup race in the history of Texas Motor Speedway. It's a decrease of 6.8 percent (12,500 people) from last year's November race. But TMS president Eddie Gossage said he was pleased because he expected attendance to dip anywhere from 8 percent to 10 percent. He said the nice weather (temperatures around 85 degrees and sunshine) provided a late boost on ticket sales. — Dallas Morning News
