Harvick worried about nonracing investors

Team owners Jack Roush, Ray Evernham, Richard Childress, Richard Petty and Michael Waltrip have brought in nonracing investors in recent years.

Kevin Harvick, who drives for Childress in Cup but owns his own Truck and Nationwide Chevrolet teams with wife DeLana, has a concern about the trend.

"The scariest part about that for me is . . . you see a lot of rich people come through the sport that don't respect it to the point that it needs to be respected and don't necessarily understand what they are getting into and the amount of work that it takes . . . Hopefully, they're patient enough and don't just throw money at it.

"There's a lot of investment firms that are involved now, and I hope that the expectations from a racer's standpoint are explained and managed so that you don't get to the end of the road and those people get out, and then the racer is stuck with nothing."
