Brawn, Wurz, not worried about own futures

(GMM) Team boss Ross Brawn, and test driver Alex Wurz, have each admitted to having relaxed attitudes about their future in the wake of Honda's F1 withdrawal.

Brawn, as team principal alongside Honda's F1 chief executive Nick Fry, is busy trying to rescue the Brackley based outfit, and its hundreds of staff, by finding a buyer before Christmas.

But 54-year-old Brawn, who joined Honda one year ago following a long and successful career as technical director at Ferrari and Benetton, said he is less worried about himself.

He told Germany's Auto Motor und Sport: "If the team has to close, I'll just go fishing for a year, which is my hobby anyway."

2008 was also 34-year-old test and reserve driver Wurz's first season with Honda, after his retirement as a race driver following his disappointing stint with Williams in 2007.

The Austrian told the news agency APA that he would be open to a role elsewhere, but will "not seek it with full power".

Honda's exit seems to have spelled a definite end to the long career of racer Rubens Barrichello, but his 2008 teammate Jenson Button is being linked with a switch to Toro Rosso.

Gerhard Berger recently withdrew his 50 per cent share of the second Red Bull team, but admits that Button "has always been an interesting man" in the minds of Toro Rosso chiefs.
