Webber due to return to UK in time for Christmas
Following his accident in Tasmania recently where he was taking part in the charity endurance challenge he hosts, Red Bull Racing driver Mark Webber was eventually discharged from hospital on November 30. Then, following this, last Wednesday he had staples removed from his right leg – he’d had a rod and three pins inserted in his leg after breaking it in two places in the road accident.
Now the Aussie racer has to spend the next couple of weeks in his native Australia in order for the swelling to go down and make sure that there’s no risk of infection while his wound heals. Once this is over, the Red Bull Racing driver will travel to the UK for physio-based rehab.
“I’d like to thank everyone for their messages of support – it means a lot and I’m looking forward to getting back on my feet again and preparing for next year," he said.
