Renault confirm R29 launch date

(GMM) Renault will launch its 2009 car on 19 January, the French formula one team announced on Friday.

It was already known that the Enstone based squad would begin testing the R29 at the new Algarve Motor Park on the following day (January 20).

Renault said in a statement an official launch event will take place at the circuit, located in the south of Portugal, at 4pm on the Monday, with the rollout to occur as scheduled on Tuesday.

It is believed Renault originally intended to launch the new single seater in France later in January.
