GP2 series confirms entries and schedule
There will be few major changes to the 2009 line-up. As previously announced, Ocean Racing Technology join the GP2 Series grid after the Portuguese team guaranteed acquisition of BCN Competicion. Piquet Sports become known as “Piquet GP" while Arden will be called “Arden International".
In 2009, the GP2 series starts its season in Barcelona, Spain where the Formula One circus will open their European season. This event will be the first of nine weekends as the official Formula One support series. The 2009 championship will be concluded with the one stand-alone event of the season in Portimao in mid-September. This will mark the first time that the GP2 Series race in Portugal.
