Massa does first laps in new F60
(GMM) Felipe Massa on Monday took the wheel for the first track outing of Ferrari's 2009 F1 car.
At a very cold Mugello circuit near Florence, the F60 rolled out of the pitlane shortly after 10.30 for an installation lap, before a second out-lap was completed about twenty minutes later.
The car features a Magneti-Marelli developed KERS system, which is expected to be tested on a Ferrari single seater for the first time later on Monday.
The Maranello based team has not decided if the energy-recovery technology will be used at the Australian grand prix in March.
"I am excited but happy to be testing the car for the first time," Brazilian Massa told La Gazzetta dello Sport prior to the debut.
