The above is the list of entrants who have confirmed their participation with a car eligible for the 2009 race in the category in which it has been selected. These teams will be at Le Mans for scrutineering on 8th-9th June and practice on 10th-11th June.
Those who have not taken advantage of their official selection (two maximum per entrant) have done so for a variety of reasons particular to each one, cost being the likely factor:

However, not confirming their participation by the 12th January deadline does not prevent them from sending in an entry for the 2009 Le Mans 24 Hours by the final date of 21st January at midnight in the same category or in another.
