Another sandstorm halts Bahrain test
(GMM) Another sandstorm halted proceedings in Bahrain on Thursday morning, frustrating the three teams that had travelled to the region to avoid the European winter.
As decent weather once again welcomed the five teams at Jerez in Spain, it was a different story at Bahrain, scene of scant action on Wednesday when high winds hurled the local desert sands into the skies.
On Thursday, due to poor visibility, the medical helicopter once again could not fly, after Kimi Raikkonen (Ferrari), Robert Kubica (BMW) and Jarno Trulli (Toyota) completed only installation laps.
"I'm very surprised; I never saw this kind of weather here," Ferrari's Felipe Massa had said late on Wednesday afternoon.
