Räikkönen tops times on sunny day 4

After two days of wind and sand, the action finally got back underway for the final day of the week in Sakhir today, with Ferrari, BMW Sauber and Toyota getting their pre-season programs back on-track in the Middle East. With plenty of work to catch up on, all three teams completed over 100 laps today, the fastest being a 1m33.350s set by Ferrari's Kimi Räikkönen.

Times early on in the morning were akin to extreme wet weather conditions, with the drivers touring around in times of 1m50s, but once the sand and moisture was cleared away from the track, the lap times began to tumble. Having clocked a time of 1m34.463s at lunchtime, Räikkönen was able to improve by over a second by the end of the day, with Trulli and Klien recording similar time gains.

With this week's test in Sakhir now concluded, teams stay in Bahrain for a second four-day test next week, starting on Monday. The weather is expected to be mostly sunny, and the teams will be hoping to avoid the sandstorms that cost them valuable running time on Wednesday and Thursday.
