Leffler penalized for rough driving

NASCAR imposed a five-lap penalty on Jason Leffler in Saturday's Nationwide Series race for rough driving in turning Steve Wallace and triggering a wreck that collected Scott Lagasse and Justin Allgaier as well. Leffler's crew in the No. 38 Toyota pleaded their case with NASCAR but to no avail.

"I never had a problem with Jason. I don't know what happened," Wallace said. "What goes around comes around."

[Editor's Note: Amazing how NASCAR can impose penalties after a race that results in revised race finishing order, yet if the winner cheats with an illegal car NASCAR lets the cheater keep the win and imposes some other sort of penalty, usually loss of points, loss of money and even a suspension of the Crew Chief. If we are a team that wants a Daytona 500 win to our credit we're going to cheat to high heaven, take the win, pay our penalty, and be forever listed as the winner of the 2009 Daytona 500. Welcome to NASCAR.]
