Lebanon still strong on Saturday
Morad made the best of the cool morning conditions at the Kyalami circuit to lap even quicker than his session-topping pace yesterday, recording a 1m 30.123-second lap, about eight tenths of a second quicker.
Great Britain’s Danny Watts was second, although his session wasn’t without incident, stopping out on track towards the end of 45-minute run after an off-track moment which damaged the GBR nosecone.
Australia’s Ashley Walsh was third, ahead of Earl Bamber’s New Zealand car, and Zahir Ali on his debut for Indonesia.
The session was the first of two extra sessions arranged this morning, aimed at giving the teams more time after slight delays in fitting additional parts to the cars to contend with Kyalami’s high altitude. Not all cars were eligible to take part.
