Massa wants shorter F1 races
(GMM) Felipe Massa believes shortening the distance of grands prix would be a worthwhile reform.
Ahead of the outlining of the FOTA alliance's vision for the future of the sport this week, the Ferrari driver said he would lop about 15 laps from the tail of the 300 kilometer-plus races.
"Too often nothing happens in the last 15 laps," he told the Roman daily La Repubblica.
The Formula One Teams Alliance will lay out its plans at a Geneva press conference on Thursday, to be attended by all team bosses, including Renault's Flavio Briatore.
"We want to see more spectacular grands prix and reduce the costs," the 58-year-old is quoted by European publications as saying.
"We want to reduce costs by 40 to 50 per cent, and we want teams of 200 people, not two thousand."
