Jensen MotorSport announces BMW drivers
Freddy Zebede is an eighteen year old from Panama City, Panama. Freddy enters his second season of racing in North America, having competed in the Skip Barber regional championship in 2008. Freddy will drive the #24 car in the 2009 Formula BMW Americas championship.
Barrett Mertins is an eighteen year old from Alexandria, Virginia. Barrett is entering his first season of car racing. Barrett will drive the #13 car in the 2009 Formula BMW Americas championship.
Team owner Eric Jensen states, “We tested extensively this winter with Freddy and Barrett to prepare for our team’s return to full-time action in the BMW championship this season. We are very pleased with their progress, and expect that both of our young drivers should produce excellent results this season."
Jensen MotorSport is a professional car racing team that has been competing in championships in the USA and Canada including the Champ Car World Series, the Atlantic Championship, and Formula BMW. Since 1998, more than forty professional drivers have raced for the team, and the team has also advanced the careers of many others with it’s driver development programs.
Launched in 2004, the Formula BMW Americas championship is one of the leading entry-level introductions for young race car drivers to single-seat car racing, a bridge between kart racing and more powerful formula cars.
