03/12/09 During the regular Thursday test days at Zolder there was an interesting spectator in the person of Jeff Gordon, who paid a short visit to the track.
His wife’s family lives close to the Zolder track, and Jeff was being invited by a local driver who has good contacts with the Vandebosch family.

Hardly anyone in the pitlane recognized the famous four time NASCAR Champion, who also paid a visit to Spa-Francorchamps yesterday. It is not known whether he has driven there. Only one guy from the Belgian Pitstop TV internetsite, who used to cover Champ Car for Eurosport two years ago recognized him and did a short interview.
Christian Lahaye from the Belgian Touring Car Series and the founder of the VW Funcup Beetle series who was also present in the pitlane offered him a drive for the Spa 25 Hours later this year, but “unfortunately he was too expensive" joked Lahaye. AR1.com
