Stewards to explain Vettel’s penalty
Sebastian Vettel is to meet the FIA stewards again in Malaysia to discuss why he was given a ten place grid penalty for his clash with Robert Kubica in Melbourne.
Red Bull Racing has not appealed against the punishment, but team boss Christian Horner has revealed that the FIA's Alan Donnelly wants to explain the stewards' reasoning to the young German.
Vettel was trying to defend second place from Kubica with three laps to go in Australia when they collided.
"I think Alan Donnelly's asked to have a chat with Sebastian to go through the rationale behind the penalty," Horner told journalists at Sepang on Thursday.
"I thought the penalty was harsh. It was very much a racing incident. Sebastian was defending his line.
