Sponsors eager to join Branson and Brawn GP
Nick Fry, chief executive of Formula One team Brawn GP, revealed a number of sponsors have approached the team following its debut win on Sunday.
According to the Times, Fry said that many of the approaches have been from British household brands eager to sustain the national link with the Brackley-based team.
“People sense that this is a British team and they want to have that link," Fry said. “There is no doubt that Jenson's victory has performed wonders for us. Apart from Virgin, we hope to have other companies on board as soon as we can."
Virgin sponsored Brawn car just hours before the grand prix; it is estimated that Button's victory was worth about £8million in television advertising time to Sir Richard Branson's brand.
