Genoa Racing Signs British Driver Dillon Battistini
Battistini, who is very close to signing a selected Indy Car program for 2009 and hopeful of starting the Indy 500, is delighted to be called up by Genoa to help the team and Richard Philippe on their first oval race of 2009 and knock off a few cobwebs.
Dillon will be carrying branding from MIS (Motorsport Insurance Services) a UK based Company offering Worldwide Motorsport Insurance who are looking to expand their US business this year.
Dillon Battistini, Driver No. 63 Indy Lights Series car:
“I am very grateful to my management, for getting things put together with Genoa. The 63 car is clearly a good seat out there. I am looking forward to working with the Genoa Team. I’m very confident in our ability to come away from Kansas with a top result, even though everything has come together so quickly. Thomas [Knapp] has assembled a very professional and talented team, and I’m looking forward to helping them out in any way I can.
Our primary focus has been IndyCar and the Indianapolis 500. It seems as if I’ve done nothing but workout and go to meetings for months now. I think it’ll be a nice mental break to get in a car this weekend … then hopefully the 500 and maybe more."
