Rain halts NASCAR truck race
NASCAR officials have postponed the Camping World Series O'Reilly Auto Parts 250, originally scheduled for Saturday night at Kansas Speedway. The race was halted because of rain after 52 of 167 laps with Mike Skinner in the lead. It will resume at 11 a.m. EDT Monday.
“It’s still not good," Skinner said of his truck. "It’s not as good as Ron [Hornaday's] and a couple others. We’re really, really tight but [crew chief] Eric [Phillip's] done a great job with this truck. He’s gaining on it, we’re getting it a little bit better all the time. If the best we can hope for is either we get to half way and it rains again or we get the thing worked out a little bit.
"My Tundra is not that good, trust me but it looks good out front and feels good out front. It feels good to lead laps every once in awhile. At least we got five [bonus] points."
Tickets from Saturday’s O’Reilly Auto Parts 250 will be honored on Monday.
