'Winner takes all' tale was mistake

(GMM) A spokeswoman for the FIA insists the 'winner takes all' rule was added to the 2010 regulations by mistake.

After the controversial rule appeared in the 30 April edition of the sporting regulations, in an update last week Article 6.1 had been revised.

"That was a mistake on our part that we have now corrected," a spokeswoman is quoted as saying by the German news agency SID.

She insisted that the Paris body did not attempt to bring in the Bernie Ecclestone-favoured rule without consulting the teams.
