Vettel reassures Button after qualifying

(GMM) After qualifying, Sebastian Vettel reassured pole sitter Jenson Button that the Briton is favourite to win the Spanish grand prix.

Brawn's Button captured pole position for the Barcelona race, but until the FIA publishes the car weights, it is still unclear what role fuel loads played in the Q3 dash.

Red Bull's Vettel qualified just over a tenth behind Button.

"I am very happy with our performance but it is very, very close and I don't know what lap Sebastian is stopping on," Button said in the post-qualifying press conference.

Knowing the information would be made public anyway, Vettel was Willing to help.

"Lap 27," the young German told Button, who instantly smiled.

"We are ok then as we are (lap) 32. So it is all fine, bring on tomorrow," said Button.
