Petty CEO resigns

Richard Petty Motorsports Chief Executive Officer Tom Reddin has resigned for personal reasons, team sources confirmed Friday at Lowe’s Motor Speedway. Reddin had joined the team in February 2008 and oversaw the operations in the first full year with the team being owned primarily by the Gillett family. He also oversaw the merger with Petty Enterprises in January.

Reddin will remain with the team as a consultant. The RPM management team, including President Rick Russell and Chief Marketing Officer De Cordell, will absorb Reddin’s duties.
