Sprint Showdown Qualifying Canceled

Friday evening's qualifying session for Saturday's NASCAR Sprint Showdown has been canceled due to rain that washed over Lowe's Motor Speedway earlier in the afternoon.

The field for the 40-lap race will be set by the qualifying draw, giving Kirk Shelmerdine the pole, however he will have to drop to the rear of the field after wrecking his primary car in practice, putting David Stremme out in front when the field takes the green flag.

Dave Blaney, Scott Riggs, Martin Truex, Jr. and David Ragan round out the top five. The top two finishers from the Sprint Showdown will advance to the Sprint All Star Race later tomorrow night, along with a third driver who will advance via the Sprint Fan Vote.
