Mosley confident of court success

Max Mosley likes a good court fight. He never loses!

Max Mosley believes that Ferrari’s court action against the International Automobile Federation [FIA] will ultimately prove unsuccessful.

The Italian manufacturer is seeking an injunction in a French court against the FIA's planned 2010 regulations, which will see teams limited to a £40 million budget.

Ferrari believe the FIA is breaking the veto agreement they felt they had concerning F1's technical regulations, a charge Mosley denies.

"We will say first of all it is no longer in place and if they wanted to do a veto – they were in the (FIA) meeting on March 17 and they should have done it there if they didn't agree. Instead, they just sat there," said Mosley.

"Anyway, it will be our contention that they walked away from that agreement some time ago."

Mosley accepts that the impasse unlikely to be resolved ahead of the May 29th deadline for entries into the 2010 championship.

"It might take the rest of the summer," Mosley told the BBC. "In the end no one is up against it until later in the summer when they have to start deciding what car to build for 2010."
