New F1 steward to debut in Turkey
(GMM) A new formula one steward will make his debut at this weekend's Turkish grand prix.
It has emerged that Mohammed Ben Sulayem, the United Arab Emirates' automobile club president and FIA vice president for sport, will be one of the three officials on duty at the Istanbul Park circuit.
He is the first Arab to fulfill the stewarding role, and will reprise the task later this season in Hungary.
"This is a new responsibility and something that cannot be taken lightly," said Ben Sulayem, who in April crashed Renault's formula one car in a demonstration.
