Four Cup drivers test at Infineon
The drivers came to the track in preparation for the Toyota/Save Mart 350 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series weekend, June 19-21 (Father’s Day weekend).
“This will be my first race here in a Cup car, so it’s good to get some track time," said Logano, driver of the No. 20 Home Depot Toyota. “It’s a tough track, but it’s really fun. I think I’m getting the hang of it."
Logano was coached by road-course veteran Chris Cook, who has also worked with NASCAR drivers Johnny Sauter and Los Gatos’ AJ Allmendinger. Logano will pull double-duty in Sonoma, competing in the Bennett Lane Winery 200, presented by Supercuts, NASCAR Camping World West Series, as well as the Toyota/Save Mart 350.
Papis (No. 13 GEICO Toyota) tested and also helped coach Reutimann (No. 00 Aaron’s Dream Machine Toyota) and Ragan (No. 6 UPS Ford). The drivers all piloted late model stock cars supplied by Pioneer Motorsports out of Lake Oroville in Northern California.
“Even if we drove a rental car out here it would help," said Ragan. “I just needed to get back into the rhythm of turning left and right."
