Andrew Ranger wins NASCAR Dickies 200 race
Andrew Ranger of Roxton Pond, Que., won the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series Dickies 200 at Mosport International Raceway today but he did it as much with his front bumper as he did with his right foot.
Ranger bashed into not one race leader but two to move them out of his way en route to winning the 51-lap event around the legendary 2.459-mile circuit at an average speed of 79.224 mph. Anthony Simone, of Holland Landing, Ont., finished second in this third race of the 13-race Canadian Tire Series season while J.R. Fitzpatrick of Cambridge was third. D.J. Kennington of St. Thomas and Ron Beauchamp Jr. of Windsor rounded out the top five.
