Only 20 cars for IndyCar at Iowa

The IndyCar Series will have 20 participants at this weekend's race at Iowa Speedway, down from the 24 that participated in the most recent race at Texas Motor Speedway.

The same number are expected next week at Richmond (Va.) International Raceway, but Brian Barnhart, the Indy Racing League's president of competition, expects between 22 and 25 at each of the remaining races.

"There's the third car at Dreyer & Reinbold at most of them, talk of (Will Power's) car coming back at five or six races, Sarah Fisher coming back for three or four more, Townsend Bell doing three or four more, even Scott Sharp doing two or three more," he said.

Plus, Paul Tracy has three more races lined up with KV Racing.

Barnhart said he received a commitment this week from Conquest Racing to participate in all of the races this season after skipping Iowa and Richmond. Indy Star
