Briscoe tops Franchitti in opening practice

Penske Racing's Ryan Briscoe topped opening IndyCar practice at Watkins Glen Saturday morning. Dario Franchitti was 2nd and Marco Andretti 3rd.

Several incidences highlighted the session included two offs by Milka Duno, Mike Conway backed it into the Armco, and a spin by EJ Viso. Mario Moraes apologized to Dario Franchitti after the session for chopping him.

Robert Doornbos lost most of the session due to a suspension problem but liked the track. "This is a lot like Spa," said Doornbos.
