Toro Rosso to debut double diffuser in Hungary

(GMM) Toro Rosso is looking forward to a performance boost at the Hungarian grand prix in two weeks.

While Sebastien Bourdais retired at the Nurburgring with an hydraulic failure having qualified last, Sebastien Buemi finished a distant sixteenth in the sister car, which is based on the dominant Red Bull Racing machine.

Despite the visible similarities, however, Toro Rosso insists that while the Red Bull is right at the top, the Ferrari-powered STR4 is "the least technically developed car on the grid".

Indeed, the car is now the only one in the field without a double diffuser; a modification which back at the Faenza factory has required changes to the car's suspension, cooling, hydraulics, gearbox and internal aerodynamics.

The upgrade will finally be ready to debut in Hungary, after getting a successful aerodynamic test at an Italian circuit.

"Hopefully that will show us that we look forward to better things in the last eight races of this season," said Toro Rosso.
